CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.

It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.

CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.(www.upledger.com)

CST may address: headaches, TMJ, chronic neck and back pain, stress and tension related disorders, post traumatic stress disorders, traumatic brain injury, and many other conditions.

Reiki

I have been studying, practicing and teaching Usui-Shiki (style) Reiki (Western Branch), before I was introduced to Komyo ReikiDo. I immediately felt "at home" with this Japanese Branch of Reiki.

Komyo ReikiDo was founded in 1998 by Japanese Buddhist monk, Inamoto Hyakuten after years of research of the original teachings of Usui Sensei. Inamoto Sensei's Reiki teacher was Yamaguchi Chiyoko (1921-2003) who was taught Reiki by Hayashi, one of Usui's students. Komyo ReikiDo is the Japanese Branch of Reiki. I am honored to have Inamoto Sensei as one of my teachers.

Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.

Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
